Halotherapy: Beyond the Hype

The market is flooded with sellers claiming their “salt therapy” devices are both safe and effective. However, a majority of these devices do not offer true dry salt therapy or halotherapy. Instead, they produce water-based salty vapor, which isn’t genuine halotherapy.

Furthermore, some employ Himalayan or Dead Sea salts, which can be harmful when inhaled due to their impurities. These salts often contain heavy metals and other trace minerals that could accumulate in the lungs.

How does halotherapy work?

The pharmaceutical salt is ground into less than 3-micron sized particles that enter the lungs. Due to the extreme hydrophilic nature of dry salt, these particles absorb moisture and mucus in the lungs. The mucus is cleaned from the lungs by coughing it up.

I am very pleased with the device. After about two minutes from it’s first use my throat felt like your throat feels the day before you get a cold.
